Student Responsibilites
The student agrees to begin each lesson punctually, well prepared, and with all necessary materials. In order to progress satisfactorily, FULL practice is necessary and required. FULL practice consists of six days of practice each week and completion of assignments per the teacher's instruction. Students will have the opportunity to participate in performances as occasions arise.
Parent Responsibilites
Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend lessons at any time. Please check your child's notebook weekly for assignment details. Parental support is a must for a child's musical growth. To help your child develop self-discipline and good practice habits, set aside a regular time for practice each day (this can be done all at once or divided into two or more daily practice sessions). Younger children especially need help with their practicing. The parent is to provide a piano in the best possible condition, a metronome, and a place allowing quiet and uninterrupted practice. Be helpful, interested and supportive!
Teacher Responsibilities
The teacher will provide a positive and enthusiastic atmosphere for learning. She will continue to further her teaching skills and music knowledge by belonging to professional organizations, attending workshops, reading professional publications, and engaging in other activities leading to professional growth.

LESSONS IN YOUR HOME
Tuition for half-hour lessons: $35.
Tuition for hour lessons: $70.
Beginning children (ages 6 to 9) are scheduled for half-hour lessons.
Beginning youth (ages 10 and up) may be scheduled for half-hour lessons or hour long lessons.
Beginning adults are highly encouraged to take hour-long lessons, but are always welcome to schedule half-hour lessons at first.
Lessons are year round. Holiday schedules for the year will be made in September.
Summer schedule (June-August) is a bit more flexible to allow for planned vacations. Each month is planned in advance to meet both your family's and my schedule.
Canceled Lessons and Make Up Lessons
No payment credit will be provided for missed lessons. Make-up lessons are only offered for illness, and students must give notification at least 8 hours in advance.
Be sure to choose a lesson time that is one in which you feel confident that you will have no other conflicts.
Please do not request Mrs. Hall to alter the schedule to accommodate extracurricular activities. In the unusual event that she would need to cancel a lesson, she will gladly reschedule a makeup lesson at the earliest possible time.
Due to my music ministry at Holy Family Parish, there may also be times where schedule changes will be necessary. Advance notice will always be given for any lesson which needs rescheduled.

Practice Time
Students are expected to practice six days each week to count as FULL practice. Full practice is defined as completing each assignment a specific number of times each day. For example, practice the E scale three times perfectly each day, or review measures 10-18 five times perfectly each day. Mrs. Hall will be specific in the student's notebook as well as demonstration in the lesson. This may mean that the student's practice time may fluctuate depending on the length of time it takes to perfect certain passages. Several practice sessions a day may be the best solution for young students.
